This Public Library Tool Kit has been designed by the LGSA to assist mayors lobby their local members and candidates in the lead up to the State Election in March. Members of the LGSA's Library and Information Reference Group provided significant input.
The attached tool kit focuses on the need for more support for public libraries, and includes:

Public Libraries Policy Platform
; - The Associations'
news release ;
- A shell news release
for use by councils
; - A set of key messages .
Aside from using the attached key messages and shell press release, you may also like to write to your local member and candidates or meet them, hold a public meeting, invite members and candidates to address an upcoming council meeting, or even introduce a motion calling on the State Government and/ or Opposition to declare its funding intentions for public libraries.
